We choose every recipient from nominations. The strongest ones come from people who work near an organization rather than inside it — vendors, consultants, board members, and former staff can usually see the gap from outside.

Can I choose who gets my copy?+
You can nominate an organization using the form above, and we work through nominations as we fill orders. We cannot guarantee a specific match because we balance across sectors and geography.
Who picks recipients?+
We select from public nominations and from sector partners including the ISACs, NTEN, TechSoup, and state library associations. Priority goes to organizations operating consequential systems without dedicated governance staff.
What happens to money above cost?+
It buys more books. Bulk pricing improves with volume, so the savings compound into additional copies. The running count reflects actual books funded, not sponsorships sold.
